Priorities
The goal for this guide is to both educate
and usher new players coming into the game not only quickly, but to assist
these players in efficiently adapting to the tasks thrown at them from the very
beginning. Shortly after starting the tutorial section, a new player can either
follow along with the guided portion of the walkthrough or enter their settings
menu to respawn and thus bypassing this section altogether. The only benefit
from this first section would be the free weapon skill level that a player would
obtain for the sword and shield weapon typing. If a player is not interested
with investing their time with this weapon than opting out by method of
respawning via the setting menu may be your fast forward button in disguise.
Once the game has quite literally thrown the player’s character onto a
washed-up beach, they may begin their first steps into the literal New World.
Most people would be awestruck by the environment and other distractions, but
this guide is here to reign the would-be explorers in as there will be plenty
of work to be completed if they want to start out your adventure the correct
way.
Optimization
The most optimal step into the New World
would be beginning the process of starting the main story questline, but before
suggesting this path, players should collect roughly four of each resource
required to craft the beginner tools. The resources needed for these tools will
be flint, which can be located lying all over the starting beach area, and
green wood that can be collected from any of the outlying bushes lining the
beaches where players have arrived on. After crafting a small collection of
tools consisting of the flint family, players can now begin the starting quest
lines leading to their first settlements. These settlements will act as a hub
for at least the first few levels or until a player has grown strong enough to
fight their way out of their current region. While traveling to the first
settlement, it would be in a player’s best interest to collect the following
ingredients: forty stone, sixteen rawhides, and forty green wood. The stone and
wood can be acquired from picking boulders and chopping down young trees in the
vicinity, but rawhides will require players to begin fighting their first
enemies, the surrounding fauna of the New World.
Preparation
These materials will allow players to
begin dabbling in their respective refinement processes as crafting is a major
focus in this game. The stones, wood, and hides will be converted into blocks,
timber, and leather as the items will all be requirements for a handful of the
beginner questlines. A few items required for later will need certain skill
levels achieved in order to obtain or collect the essential materials for
progression. Of these items, two will be necessary as the main storyline will
be blocked without them. These items will be a water affinity plant called a
Rivercress and the other is a previous metal known to man as silver ore. The
silver ore should be hardly an issue since it only requires a skill level of
ten in order to collect from a silver vein to obtain it. However, Rivercress
requires a harvesting level of thirty to collect their valuable components.
Goals
In order to achieve these short-term
goals, players will need to collect a few items to craft upgrades to their
current tool collection. These new tools will replace the previous ones as they
are not only more durable, but they will also collect materials at a faster
rate. The resources needed for the creation of these tools will be twenty-four
rawhide, forty green wood, and 152 iron ore. The two previous materials have
been worked with by players before, but the iron smelting process will be new
to any player that was unable to collect the resource prior until now. After
the creation of these new tools, players may wander into the wild to harvest
fibers, herbs, and other organic resources to begin leveling this skill. The
players can also attempt to locate or gather a sum of twenty silver ore along
the way to smelt five silver ingots for a later questing purpose. This can also
be carried out while navigating the landscape in search for water, a fungus
called Petacalp, and the Rivercress as the stem will be vital to a main story
quest. With these specific items, tools, and direction set, players may now
simply follow the main story quests without any further delay. This will allow
new players to familiarize themselves with the game while having everything
needed to complete at least one third of what the current game offers. I hope
you have found this guide useful and wish you luck and Godspeed adventurers!
